Taylor Swift’s record-breaking tour - B1

Taylor Swift’s amazing tour - 2nd September 2024

Taylor Swift has just ended her European tour with a giant concert in London.

Swift performed at Wembley Stadium for 8 nights in one year. That’s never been done before. Over 700,000 fans filled the stadium to see her.

The tour has already earned Swift around $1 billion. But the world tour isn’t finished yet. Experts think the number might reach $2 billion.

The money hasn’t just gone to Swift. Her fans have spent plenty of money on hotels, restaurants and local businesses in cities across the UK. Experts call this “Swiftonomics.”

In London, the tour boosted the economy by £300 million. Across the whole UK, it’s nearly £1 billion!

The tour changed more than just the economy. In Edinburgh, Swift’s super fans danced so much they actually made the earth move.

But there were problems too. In Austria, Swift’s team had to cancel three shows because of a possible terrorist attack. After the Wembley concerts, Taylor shared her feelings on Instagram. She felt afraid and guilty but was grateful that everyone stayed safe.

Swift is taking a break now, but don’t worry! The tour starts again in October in the US before it ends in December.
